In the year 1841 the "Hintere Feldlimatte" was chosen as the location for a new college. But already in the year 1910 almost the complete building burned down.
During one year after this incident the college was rebuild and extended. This was planned by architect Davinet, he also planned the Federal Palace of Switzerland. Another fire in year 1979 was almost the end of the college. Fortunately the fire was quickly extinguished. The College was 1984 inaugurated. Until the year 2001 the college was also a boarding school. The college is still in use and can also be visited.
